Project Description

The project draws inspiration from Nordic architecture, with the architectural concept based on the principle of harmonising with the surrounding environment. The study of natural light played a decisive role: the three work areas have been positioned to make the most of natural light, ranging from a corner window to a skylight, the latter designed to regulate the amount of sunlight reaching the office workstations throughout the different seasons.

“The use of sliding, concealed glass frames has allowed us to create a sense of depth in the rooms and to let in natural light.”

Interview

Who is the designer?

The COIMP Technical Department: within the company, the head of the technical department oversees projects from both a technical and a design perspective, as well as handling dedicated architectural design.

How did your passion for architecture and interior design come about?

My passion for design stems from the need to introduce, within the Salento region, an understanding of materials, systems and architectural styles that blend well with timber construction.

In your opinion, what role can a door play within a project?

In the case of our project, the flush-mounted door was chosen to best integrate and blend the access to secondary spaces. Using concealed sliding frames with glass allowed us to add depth to the rooms and allow natural light to flow through.
