Project Description

The flat, located on the top floor of a newly constructed building, is an intimate and precious space that contrasts with the vast skyline outside. Characterised by large windows, it is enriched by the changing natural light that floods the flat and alters its appearance at different times of the day. The structured and textured surfaces of wood, iron and microcement create multiple scenarios as light and shadow alternate, then completely change appearance in the evening with artificial lighting.

The subtle lines of the black metal wall unit conceal the passage between night and day, which are identified by contrasting colours: dark, enveloping colours for the sleeping area and white surfaces for the night. Small accents of colour reflect the fresh personality of the inhabitants who live there.

“The subtle lines of the wall unit, made entirely of black metal, conceal the transition between night and day, which are identified by contrasting colours.”

Interview

Who is the designer?

Architect Loredana Marvulli, founder of MeS Studio 327, an architecture and engineering firm based in Bari, aims to accompany the realisation of the work in every phase of the construction process: from project conception to site development. The studio has extensive experience in residential, commercial and public space design, distinguishing itself for its ability to combine tradition and innovation through a process of integration between cutting-edge technologies and natural materials. Every project designed by MeS Studio 327 is conceived to convey authenticity, creating spaces that speak of those who live in them and leave an indelible mark on those who visit them. We love surprise effects. We use flush-to-wall solutions to conceal spaces within other spaces, so that the discovery of an element always arouses wonder. Ermetika flush-to-wall doors fit perfectly with our design philosophy.

What is the most important focus when you start a new project?

The most important focus every time we start a new project is always to identify the client's needs and the issues that characterise the space to be redesigned. We focus on the details that always make the difference, making each element unique, and each element then makes the entire project unique.

In your opinion, what role can doors play in a design project?

The primary role of doors is to separate rooms within a home, providing privacy, but at the same time they are a point of connection and passage from one room to another.

What made you choose Ermetika products?

This is precisely why we chose Ermetika doors: because in addition to separating rooms and providing privacy, they offer elegance, sturdiness and high physical characteristics.
